Patio & Walkway Sealing Questions
How long before we can use our patio or walkway after sealing?
With Trident Hurricane CAT 5, most patios and walkways are dry to the touch in about 1–2 hours under ideal weather. Light foot traffic is often possible in 2–4 hours.
For normal use, we recommend waiting 24 hours before regular furniture placement and 24–48 hours before heavier use to allow proper cure in humid Florida conditions.
Will sealing help with mildew, food stains, and leaf tannin marks?
Yes. Sealing reduces absorption so common patio and walkway staining from food, drinks, wet leaves, and organic debris is easier to clean.
It does not make pavers stain-proof, but it gives you a cleaner maintenance window and helps keep the surface looking uniform longer.
Do you re-sand patio and walkway joints before sealing?
Yes. We remove weak joint material, install Trident ASTM C144 kiln-dried joint sand, and compact joints before sealing. This improves lockup, helps limit washout, and supports a cleaner finished appearance around tight patterns and edge restraints.
Can you seal around furniture, planters, and outdoor kitchens?
Yes. We stage and phase work areas so access points remain manageable while delivering a complete seal. During the walkthrough, we identify what needs to be moved, what can stay, and how to protect adjacent finishes and landscaping.
Will the finish be slippery when wet?
When applied correctly, a premium sealer should enhance color without creating an unsafe slick surface. We control application rates and use the correct finish for patio and walkway traffic so the result looks refined and feels predictable underfoot.
